A Proof of Resilience and Commitment: Leonard Ogu Walks Again
At GIDI, our vision extends beyond building Africa via sustainable homes; it is about building a stronger, more inclusive Africa—one where opportunities and support systems enable individuals to rise above challenges and fulfill their potential.
A little over a year ago, one of our realtors, Leonard Ogu, faced an unexpected turn in his journey. A tragic accident changed the course of his life, presenting a challenge that would have deterred many.
Yet Leonard chose resilience over despair. Despite the difficulties, he remained steadfast, continuing to push boundaries in Nigeria’s real estate, setting new benchmarks for excellence.
Recognizing his relentless spirit, GIDI made a commitment. We pledged 1% of the profit from Epe Gardens 2 to support his recovery and secure a prosthetic leg.
Today, we are proud to announce that Leonard has not only received his prosthetic following a successful procedure in South Africa but is also back on his feet.
This procedure commenced during the second edition of our Intra-African Realtors’ Conference (GIDI IARC), which he also joined.
This moment is a reflection of who we are. At GIDI, we believe in people. We believe that our stakeholders—our realtors, partners, and clients—are the heartbeat of our mission. Their dreams, their resilience, and their success stories drive us forward.
Leonard’s journey is a reminder that our impact must go beyond housing. As we build homes, we are also building lives, supporting ourselves, and creating an avatar that brings everyone together.
